Sex after baby

I’m one day from being 6 weeks postpartum, my 6 week pp appointment is tomorrow but we had sex today for the first time. Didn’t think it’d do any harm the day before since I didn’t have to have any stitches, how long did you wait to have sex? What happened at your 6 week pp appointment?
