First time mom birth story!
I was set to be induced on March 3rd and hadn’t reached past 1 cm. February 27 I started having contractions 12 minutes apart then down to 4 minutes apart with no stopping in between. My husband and I went to triage but I still never went past 1 cm. I was given pain meds and sent home by the dr even though the nurse was convinced I was in labor. 2 hours later the contractions were 2-3 minutes apart and unbearable. We went back to triage and I had progressed to 2 cm and they almost wanted to send me home again but I refused this time. I was admitted finally and given the epidural almost immediately. 3 hours after I was already 5 cm and then 3 hours from then I was 9 cm and my water broke. We did some things to get the baby to move down further and a little after 5 in the morning it was time to push. She was born an hour 20 minutes later. I spiked a fever at the end of pushing and it stressed her out so much she had to be sent to the nursery but she came back a few hours and later and has been such a healthy baby since! Minus being turned away from triage almost twice I had a pretty great experience for my first time. I am sooo glad I stuck to how I was feeling and didn’t go home the second time. All I needed was the epidural to relax me.
