I recently was asking my mom about birth control because I want to get on it, and she told me her hospitals insurance (where she works) doesn’t cover birth control because they are a catholic hospital. Now.. I have 2 insurances, one through my mom, one through my dad. My dad recently switched to the same type of insurance my mom has (blue cross blue shield) but he lives in another state and works for a completely different hospital (VA or veterans affairs) I have 0 idea if his covers birth control as we are not in contact due to him being a piece of crap father. But I do have a step mom who stays in contact. Yesterday I went to the obgyn and got prescribed the birth control pill. I’m going to pick it up today but I’m worried I’ll be charged. I just got a job but haven’t gotten my first paycheck yet so I don’t have a ton of money. My mom seems angry that I’m getting on birth control because she assumes I’m on it to have sex (while that’s one reason it is not the main)

OH MY.. update.

My step mom answered and said my dad has tricare prime retiree and it should cover my birth control but I was told he has blue cross and that’s been in all the systems when I’ve had my appointments. Beyond confused and upset at the lack of communication on my dads end
