Hey all. I had my 20 week scan today. Everything came out okay except baby had 1 white spot on his heart and the doctor said that was a sign of EFI (echogenic intracardiac focus). It was only noted on the baby’s heart. Not anywhere else. Doc said if it was somewhere else she’d be worried. We did the NIPT genetic testing and all came back good with no concerns. But of course now I’m worried. Has anyone else had this or heard of it? I looked it up and saw that could be a possible sign to Down syndrome but was not sure. Doctor said she is about 99% sure baby is okay, but obviously she could not guarantee it. The ultrasound sound tech said she saw a normal sized head and eyes and didn’t see any indicators of Down syndrome during the scan. Does anyone have any advice or experience with this? I’ll take all the information I can. Thanks.
