7 day treatment of metronidazole

So me and my new partner got tested before we had sex his results were good but mines came back as positive for trichomoniasis.. my doctor told me to take it twice a day for 7 days ... he also said no sex but if I do use a condom and he also said no sex until I finish all my meds .. 2nd day into treatment we decided to have sex but we used a condom ... on the 7th day I took my last pill and that same day we had unprotected sex ... do you think the trichomoniasis should be fine by this time ? He told me wait after I completed my treatment and that’s exactly what I did but now I’m paranoid and think I should of asked more questions ..
