As long as your licensed and/or have the right qualifications there is nothing weird about it. There is such a shortage of substitute teachers right now!

No. When I was in high school we had a teacher go into preterm labor and was subsequently put on bed rest two months until the end of school. Period subs and then a regular sub saved us.
