I’m only concerned because there isn’t any precedent or sufficient medical data to say if and how a pregnant woman and her unborn child react to having contracted this virus...whether or not it passes down to the baby, if there are any longer-term effects because of it, etc. Yes, there were a few reported cases of pregnant women in China, but there isn’t much specific info from there. Hope we’re able to keep safe from this...

Not super concerned for myself (other than trying to keep healthy to avoid spreading it to immunocompromised people as much as possible), but I am feeling a bit nervous about delivering and having a newborn this summer. Even if the baby and I never get it, having a huge strain on hospital resources means less to go around for other emergencies.

Because there is no point In worrying about something if it's going to happen. If you are going to get it, then you are going to get it. There is nothing you can go. You can do everything to stop yourself from getting it, but isolating yourself from every day germs and the germs of others, can make you more susceptible to getting more poorly if you get it. In healthy people it's just like a common cold or the flu. The only people that are dying from it are people with low immune systems or those who have underlying health issues to begin with. I would imagine it's the same as a normal cold or flu when pregnant. You get more poorly because your body tries to fight it off from reaching the baby.

Concerned but not because I'm pregnant. Concerned as I have asthma. All research though limited thus far suggests we're no worse off just because we're pregnant and it doesn't spread to baby in utero.

This is from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists website. I’m 27 weeks pregnant and I’m being very cautious. This is so new there’s a limited amount of data right now, but my biggest worry is going into preterm labor. I am also just as concerned about flu season before anybody says anything about that. I just so happen to take the precautions for that as well. I already practice hand washing, getting my flu shot, and not touching my face. I’m more worried about my older sister that’s 16 weeks pregnant because there would be no chance of survival for my niece if she went into preterm labor now. I’m not the type of person to panic. I prefer to stay well informed and prepared without buying up all the toilet paper. Weeks ago we stocked up on some Tylenol to reduce fevers in case we had to self quarantine and other people cleared the shelves in a panic (I assumed that would happen). I already have a small supply of food for my family and dogs in case of a natural disaster but nothing major.

No because I wash my hands, dont work around other people, use hand sanitizer at least 10x a day (it is required with my job to use it before and after each patient), and I dont go out.

I’m concerned more so that I’m due literally any minute and will have a baby with just about 0 immune system.

I’m not concerned for myself because I weirdly have a stronger than normal immune system when pregnant. I am worried for other people like my mom who has a very weak immune system due to multiple rounds of radiation & there is multiple cases in my area my county actually officially declared state of emergency

No evidence that I should be concerned. I’m a healthy mid20s girl, even if I did get it odds of it being serious is super low.
I think we do all need to band together to prevent community spread so it doesn’t become a yearly thing, so I’m glad people are taking it seriously, but so far, I see no reason to be overly concerned. Just following good old CDC guidelines.

The only reason I’m concerned is because my immune system is compromised. My college was closed down for few weeks, im ordering groceries, trying to stay away from crowds. Last thing I have to do is stop working.
