Travelers not kissing kids
Am I out of line for this? I am in the middle of a fight with my husband and his sister bc their parents are coming tonight for a month long visit on a 15 hour flight from a country in the top 10 of corona virus cases countries and I commented that I wanted to make sure they don’t have a fever or cough before they kiss my two toddlers. Even though the corona virus is supposedly less dangerous for children, my in laws have very weakened immune systems themselves (and are still choosing to travel) and may be susceptible to any other colds/flus/illnesses they could be exposed to in a plane for 15 hours.
They think my comment is offensive and out of line. I am not trying to withhold my kids from their grandparents at all. I just want to be cautious. My husband is furious at me and is saying that I endanger my children all the time bc I do a contact sport and could bring other people’s germs into our house, which is way worse. I don’t understand why this keeps escalating. It was a casual comment to me but to them it was a major and unreasonable attack.
