So I want to start doing my own acrylics and I found a shellac manicure gel kit online for cheap but idk if the shellac lamp on the kit is the same lamp they use for acrylic sets? Is there a difference?

I think you need to do your research because acrylics don’t need lamps.

If you want to get started, what A said is correct. I suggest Mia Secret to get started with acrylic, along with many hours of YouTube, and lots of practice (I taught myself this way). Learn the difference between acrylic and hard gel, and be safe. Good luck

I do nails. Bought so many sets.  Acrylics dont need lights. They harden and dry naturally. But I used a light for my top coat

Do dip powder. Its acrylic but doesnt require monomer or a brush and doesnt go on as thick. Also dont need a lamp. There are lots of kits available and it's super affordable.

Acrylics require the bond, the acrylic liquid, and the powder. They dry on their own and fast. They don’t need a lamp.
