How long after c section can you have sex?

So I thought it was 6 weeks but when I went to my 1 week check up all the doctor said was we would get my birth control lined out at my 6 week check up and if we have sex before then to just use condoms so I don’t get pregnant. Like she didn’t tell me not to have sex or stress anything about it ?

Six weeks because of the dinner plate sized wound left in your uterus by the placenta that needs to heal.

As a General rule it's 6 weeks or until cleared by a Dr. Some people recover faster then others, also depending on the type of birth and procedures done during. But it say if your Dr cleared you in a week that's awesome and would probably be my hubbys dream come true 😂
