Should I get a doula, yes or no?

Ka

So with my first daughter I had a birth plan written up, and luckily a fantastic nurse was on my side most of the time and encouraged me through my natural birth. However, my actual doctor and the other nurses were very forceful, and didn’t respect my wishes, put me on pitocin even though I was progressing perfectly fine myself. I was told to “hold” my daughter in until the doctor got there (not possible btw) and was forced to lay on my back on the bed even though I felt a better position at the time was on all fours. I ended up twisting and bruising my sternum and ribs and injured my lower back (specifically my lower lumbar L-5 with a thin disc)

I have pain everyday that reminds me of that day. I had chest pain for months.

There are no birth centers and home births are apparently outlawed in our state. I will then most likely have a hospital birth. I’m wondering if a Doula would help prevent those things from happening again....

Ps. We’re in the Columbus Ohio area- about 30-35 minutes east of downtown.
