I’m 38 weeks pregnant... I have chronic hypertension before pregnancy... and I have been on medications my whole pregnancy to control my blood pressure and my blood pressure has been great up until 37 weeks it’s was getting higher and then today at my 38 week appointment it was higher. So my obgyn said she wants to induce me by 40 weeks because she said it wouldn’t be safe for either baby or me to go past that. So next week (Tuesday) we have our 39 week appointment and schedule my induction. Well my sister is telling me how horrible I am for inducing and how I’m forcing my baby out before time and how I’m being selfish.. my aunt is saying the same thing and so is my mother in law... and now I feel bad... but my doctor says it’s in both the baby and my best interest to induce.... am I a bad mom for doing this? I’m a first time mom. I already have a lot of anxiety I have had two previous early miscarriages. I told my family about it because they are my family and they asked what the doctor said. My mom and dad defended me and so did my husband but I know some people get mad when women have been induced. Now my sister is sending me stories of inductions gone wrong.. I’m not reading them but the worst that could happen is I have a c section... right?
