Shy veins during labor?

Did anyone else experience disappearing veins during labor? Normally whenever i need my blood drawn they always say how nice my veins are and how easy they are to find. Well when i went into labor all my veins seemed to disappear. They attempted to put an IV in 4 different times😩 its been two weeks and one spot that they tried on my wrist hurts so bad to move! It is a green color and wont go away.

That happened to me before and they decided to try to warm me up. Tried in both hands then in my wrist. Hurt so bad and they kept digging I was so happy when the pain meds finally kicked in. I wasn't even in labor just having kidney troubles.

Not shy veins, no, but I was so dehydrated that I needed an entire bag of fluids before they would get any blood from me and they still had to stick me 4 times to get everything they needed.

An IV is harder to start then a blood draw. You don’t need much of the vein to get blood but you have to thread a catheter into a vein for an IV
