Its manipulation. No one likes to fall victim to that. I understand that every person on planet earth is bound to feel insecure from time to time and I'm a HUGE proponent of raising each other up and adjusting each others crowns when needed, I've got pom-poms in EVERY color.....however, if you need a boost say what you mean and ask for it. Dont take an ultra filtered photo, hair done, makeup done, wearing your best outfit, perfect lighting and poses like a doll with a caption "omg guys...I'm sooooooo ugly/masculine/busted etc". They are trying to elicit a pavlovian response, and its insulting tbh.
