Baby feels like he’s twitching?

Question

So I’m 29 weeks pregnant and lately baby has been feeling like he’s twitching. It’s probably the best way I can describe it. Very rapid movement that last about 30 seconds or so. Has happened 4 or 5 times now. I read it can mean fetal distress.. with everything going on I don’t want to go to the hospital unless very emergent. Does anybody else know what this could possibly mean?

I’ve had this on and off since 27 weeks (32 now) and my doctor said it’s either baby stretching (like when you see a dog stretch and their body shakes) or baby practicing breathing, which they do rapidly. She wasn’t concerned.

I have felt my baby “twitch” a couple of times. But it never lasts more than just a second or two. I will feel rapid jerking, but for only a second or two I haven’t been concerned. Plus it’s been maybe twice and I’m 38 weeks? With it lasting so long, I would call L&D at your hospital and just ask them? It could all be fine, but best to get their opinion.
