Normal symptoms after stopping depo?

My last depo shot was due on March 23rd, but I didn't get it. The week I was supposed to get the shot, I had cramping for 2 days straight on my right side, and then spotting the day after I had cramping. The week before I was due for the shot I spotted twice (which the drs couldn't explain why. It had been happening the last couple times I went in for my shots... but I'm wondering if the cramping and even the spotting was normal after stopping the shot. I've been on it for almost 2 years.
