How many baby items do I actually need?

I’m trying to figure out how many, hooded towels, diapers, wash cloths, receiving blankets etc I actually need to have before my baby girl arrives on 7/7 . 
ALSO I plan on nursing, but know that I might not be successful at it, should I buy baby bottles too just in case, and formula??? What did you ladies do?

We had one hooded towel, but only used it for the first month or so. It got to be easier to just use a regular towel. They are kind of a waste of money. We still use the baby wash cloths, but I wouldn’t think you would need more than 4-5. We stocked up with 2 boxes of newborn this time around and then started buying size one. We had to size up with our first fairly fast because she kept having blow outs. 
I would start with buying one set of bottles. We never had formula on hand with our first, I just always planned to breastfeed so I never thought to even buy any. Nipple confusion makes it very tough to breastfeed, so I would do everything you can to avoid bottles in the first two weeks, unless it’s just not working. I strongly recommend lactation consultants!! Don’t be afraid to ask for help or guidance. They are awesome and will help you in any way they can. It’s very hard, especially in the beginning, but it is very worth the work.

I would get at least 3 hooded towels. Depending on how often you want to wash. I use the same towel for a couple of uses before I wash. Wash cloths I would say 15 or so. And I would get a couple of bottles just in case although I didn’t ever use bottles but it’s good to have just in cAse. If you sign up for target or amazon registry they will give you some bottles in the sample box they send.

There’s no way to answer any of this because it all depends on your baby. Some babies spit up and need to be changed constantly, some don’t. My son hated receiving blankets. We didn’t use any. We had two Velcro swaddles that he wore for about 2 days before washing. He was born in January so he pretty much wore one pair of jammies for 24 hours. In the beginning we went through 12 diapers a day and he stayed in newborn sizes for almost 3 months. We didn’t use hooded towels we just used a normal towel. And I breastfed, we had 4 bottles so my husband could feed him once and awhile but we never used any formula. There’s truly no way to predict anything you’ll need.

Dont get bottles!! If your gona breastfeed / try please dont buy any its much easier if you commit and know you have to do it - honesty if you really had to get a bottle you can go and buy one from any shop any time so wait and aee how you get on first with breastfeeding you dontt start expressing for a few weeks so you dont need them now you can do it 💖💖 towels id say 3, wask cloths loads haha i used them as washcloths, spit up rags for sick, for bogies when hes abit older and then to clean him up after foo weaning so they are great can't have too many i bought a big loads off amazon cheap big bundle, baby grows like 7-10 in each size sometimes you change them 3 times a day and no one wants to do loads of wash loads with a newborn hehe xxx
