Ok so this will probably make me sound terrible and will be judged but whatever....I don't really like the idea of having the baby placed on me right after birth while he is full of mucus and slime and is all purple and gross. My hospital does skin to skin contact immediately which is supposed to be best for but is it possible to request that they cut the cord, clean him up a bit, wrap him up and then bring him to me? Will they do that? Should they do that? Should I just get over it? I'm nervous about that being the first image of my child.
