need help

my boyfriend of 1 year said that I make him feel like a parent and so I asked him how I can make him feel more like my boyfriend and less like my parent and he got agitated that I asked and told me I was being immature and need to be able to solve my own problems. I don't know what to do or how to fix my problems. any advice?
