Baby scale?

Question

Should I buy a scale to track weight gain for when little girl is here? I would like to breastfeed if I can and was curious if I needed to track her weight. I don’t want her to not get enough if I don’t have it. I don’t even know if this post makes sense but how do I know how much she needs to breastfeed and how for how long when she does?

You don’t need to track her weight, but you can. I have though about buying a scale, but I haven’t decided.

I only got a scale due to a bad case of jaundice so they wanted him gaining an oz a day even after reaching birth weight. The lactation consultant wanted me to go in every 2-3 days to weigh him on exactly the same scale and it was just easier to buy one she do it at home. We're going the jaundice issue won't be as bad for a May baby since there should be sunlight. Baby will let you know when they're hungry

It depends on your personality. I was super paranoid with my first baby. I bought a scale and would weigh him for reassurance. It helped me to know that he was getting enough. I'm planning on using it with my second as well.

This will be my third breastfed baby, and I get the concern because you definitely want to make sure baby is staying hydrated and actually eating enough, but the pediatrician has always given me a number for how many wet diapers they should have each day and I've always just monitored that.

i nursed my son every 2-3 hours for up to 45 minutes sometimes. its tricky the first few days as you're getting to know and learn the signs your baby is giving you. just be consistant. you can get a scale to weight baby b4 feeding and after to see how many oz. they drank but i dont think its really necessary. as long as baby is having wet/dirty diapers
