Thrush!!!
Hi!
For some background, I'm a 17-year-old girl living in the UK who's had regular periods for about 3 or 4 years now, with generally mild symptoms.
Basically, I've just realised that I think I've had thrush for like, 5 years. We learnt about it 4 years ago at school but I never made the connection to myself! I thought my yeast infection was normal and that all vags looked like mine 😳😳😳😳 (this is so embarrassing ik i'm so sorry!!)
Unfortunately I've realised during isolation/corona time and I'm not willing to go to a hospital to get diagnosed, because I don't want to risk catching something/waste the time of frontline workers right now.
I've had this white stuff (they say it looks like cottage cheese) on my labia for at least 5 years, but I've never had any other symptoms (e.g itching or pain). I'll admit that it does smell bad down there sometimes despite me washing my vag EVERY SINGLE TIME I pee or poo (I'm Muslim, this is a requirement haha)
Does anyone have any advice? I talked to my mum about it but she said I don't have thrush because I don't itch, and I'm kind of too shy to bring it up again. (After getting advice on here I'll definitely check with her again dw!!)
I'm worried because I've heard it can spread to other places and damage your sex organs - and 5 years is SO FREAKING LONG 😭
Please give me all the advice you can!! And any home remedies or medicines I can buy! Please don't judge me I'm so scared posting this 😳
