Tips for swaddle free?

Please let me know, did you try one hand in swaddled? Cold turkey or??? If you did cold turkey please please share your tips. I’m trying one hand out tonight, I tried cold turkey and she wouldn’t even attempt to sleep.

We did ours cold turkey during her 4 month sleep regression. She was waking up every hour anyway. But prior to that I’d swaddle her under her arms (arms free). Just to feel what that’s like. She was so so so so fussy during the regression it didn’t matter and now she’s fine

We switched from the swaddle to the zipadee and she started sleeping better!

We did cold turkey at about 3 months. He was a little restless at the beginning of the night but then he slept fine. We've had rough nights since then but not too bad. We actually had to have him sleep without a sleep sack or anything the other night because we forgot the sleep sack at home and I was afraid he'd be up all night but he slept really well!

We did it over quite a long period.. maybe a month? I started with nighttime sleep, alternating the arms out for quite a while, then once that was going well I did both arms out. Probably could’ve done it quicker because by this time she was already breaking her other arm free and likes to suck her thumb to soothe. It actually went really well. Now we have both arms out for naps too and I just swaddle around her midsection, probably just do a sleep sack soon. I did try one of those zip up ones with the arms kind of up by their heads but she hated it

We’re doing cold turkey now only because she’s going through the 4 month sleep regression and was constantly fighting her way out of the swaddled so she didn’t want to be strapped down anymore. It’s been rough but I think it’ll be worth it once she gets use to it

We did cold turkey at 8 weeks. Girl the first few nights were not fun and I was soooo tempted to swaddle her up again just to get some sleep! We stuck with it though and she sleeps in sleep sacks now! Consistently is key but who am I because now she’s going through a sleep regression and I’m up all night anyway!! 😭

We went from swaddle to the magic Merlin sleep suit and then are slowly transitioning to a sleep sack. It took a few nights but he has done well so far.
