How much do you bleed after giving birth?

I’m a FTM So no idea what to expect or how bad the bleeding is gonna be. I know it’s different for every woman as some hardly bleed and others do a lot and for longer. But mama’s who have already had babies give me an idea of what to expect please so I have more knowledge of what to buy for postpartum bleeding. Thank you!

You probably won’t notice it, though, cause the nurses change your sheets and take it all away. (Especially won’t notice it as much if you have an epidural/ cesarean). Then it gets significantly better and it’s just like your heaviest period ever for a day or two.

I bled for 5 weeks postpartum. Adult diapers worked best for me since I hate pads. I also froze thick pads filled with witch hazel as ice packs. Felt amazing. I was also restitched 4 days after delivery.

I bled a loooot at the hospital. I was there 4 days. The blood was pouring out. Once I got home it was better. I used large pads in the day and used Depends for extra protection the first 2 nights.

I personally didn’t bleed that bad. The hospital was a blur, so I don’t recall how much I bled there.  I just remember changing my pad every time I owed just to stay fresh, plus the ice odd felt amazing.  When I went home I wore a depend the first night bc I was paranoid about bleeding but I honestly didn’t need it.  I wore regular pads after the first day home and I was good with just those bc it was just like period bleeding that slowly decreased. I bled no more than 3 weeks post partum.

With each baby it's been different. My first baby wasn't too bad. The first three ish days its uh its alot. But after that it becomes like just a really heavy period. Dont stress about it tho, it definitely wont be the main focus in your mind.

I didn’t bleed a lot. My first day after delivery I used hospital pads then when I got home I used heavy Kotex pads for about a week and a half then just the regular kotex pads
