Chemical pregnancy: found out at 4 weeks

This is my 3rd month ttc for my first baby. On Sunday (a day before my missed period), I got a positive test. Yesterday and today I had a positive test with a fainter line. I started to have some cramps and then some faint blood. Later, the heavy bleeding started. I called my doctor and she said I had a chemical pregnancy. Have any of you gone through this? I would love to get more information on it. Will this mess up my predicted ovulation date? Is this my period?
