Newborn hasn’t peed?

Question

I had my son at 5:58pm yesterday (04/22) & he still hasn’t urinated. He’s nursing like a champ & having zero issues pooping but still hasn’t peed. The NP said it’s not something to worry about until its been 24 hours but never explained what will happen if he still doesn’t pee on his own...
Has this happened to anyone else??

Are you sure he hasn’t ?  Sometimes the diapers feel dry even when they aren’t because they pee so little at once as newborns.  When you change him, take a piece of toilet tissue and press it firmly into the diaper and see if there is any moisture.  If not, and he’s showing any signs whatsoever of dehydration, I’d insist on seeing a doctor.
Baby probably won’t have tears yet right now anyway so ignore that part,  but here is a list of what to watch for
