Minivan all the way. Those automatic sliding doors alone are worth it. There’s not enough room for 3 car seats in the middle row if you have the third seat or bench seat, but if you have the infant seat in the middle row and then the other two car seats however, it’s still pretty easy to access the back row.

I had a Chevy Traverse, amazing for 2 kids but not for 3. We just got a Honda Odyssey and it's perfect! Of course everyone has their preferences and I normally would never have gotten a minivan (and I was actually trying really hard to figure out the funds to get a Suburban) but with young children I really think the van is the way to go.
Reasons we knew the traverse wouldn't work: *when you have the third row up there is essentially NO trunk space. Seriously you can only fit like an umbrella stroller and I couldn't even fit enough groceries for 1 week for my family in the trunk unless the 3rd row was down. *SUPER narrow. You can't properly fit 3 car seats across. You might be able to squish them in and get the doors closed, but there just isn't enough room for them to be SAFELY installed. Of course if you use the 3rd row for a carseat then you're ok but then you lose your trunk. Also, we use one of the narrowest car seats that exists (Clek) and even with those it just doesn't work
Things we love about the van: *SO MUCH SPACE. Seriously you'll be amazed if you choose to go test one. *good trunk space with 3rd row up. I can easily fit my double jogging stroller + extra things in the trunk with all seats up. *since it's a much lower frame my kids can get in the car and their car seats all by themselves! Since my kids are 4 and 1.5, this is HUGE for me and will be even more helpful when baby 3 arrives. *wide enough to properly have 3 car seats across in case you need the 3rd row down *more bang for your buck
Biggest reason we chose the Honda Odyssey: each seat in the back has a tether hook up for car seats. No other van does, they all have it on the middle seat of the 3rd row and the 2 side seats of the middle so you're really limited as far as seat configurations go. If all your kids are young and still need car seats for a while, make sure you think about that.

Minivan. I want so SUV badly... but the three rows isn’t enough... it just takes all the trunk space that you will definitely need.

I love my Chevy traverse yes the trunk space is compact she. Third row is down but it’s not that small I can fit my double stroller in there 🤷🏻‍♀️ I guess it depends what you need I try to travel as light as I can

I have a GMC Acadia and love it. Also we have captain seats which is a must for when they get to be school-age￼ for drop offs! But the trunk space isn’t that big. Do you have an option to fold half of the sit down or the whole thing in the back but still! ￼
