Anyone else giving baby Vitamin D drops? At our four month check up I got asked if we’re doing them. She didn’t say it’s bad, some people do it. I never heard of it before! But I just purchased some baby vit d drops! :)

I take vit d and get baby in the sun everyday so I almost never use the drops - I do have some though.

I'm not going to lie I forget to give our son vitamin D drops some days. It has been hectic at home lately.

Yes especially with breastfeeding, my pediatrician gave us samples at his 1 month check up and gives us more at every checkup.

It’s not necessary for formula fed babies but is good for EBF babies.  Our pediatrician had us start after 2 week appt

Yeah I’ve been doing it since he was born. Just a drop in his morning bottle everyday :)

Babies don’t process vitamin d from sun like children and adults. If you are breastfeeding it is highly advised you supplement with drops or through maternal intake. Bone growth deficiency can occur. Just google rickets.

My midwives told me that as long as I take at least 6,000 IU per day, baby will get enough, so that's what I do! Pediatrician was on board. :)
