I went in to my 37 week appt and because of the many complications my lupus gave us, they said I think it’s time to have her!!

For some reason I had a feeling this would happen so we had everything in the car!!

Called dad, he left work, drove from Ohio here as quickly as he could.

I went to triage around 1:30, had to wait for my Covid test to come back which took 2 hours.

I got to my room around 3, they inserted a balloon to start stretching my cervix for dilation, they let me eat quickly, and then gave me the Pitocin.

I was having contractions but was completely fine. They were in shock and kept raising the dosage.

I was 4cm after the balloon came out and after 4 hrs of Pitocin, around 9pm.

They went away and checked me again at midnight.

It was getting stronger and rough the longer it went. I was adamant on having a natural birth.

They tried to get me to have an epidural and i kept saying no.

They checked me at 12 and I’m still only 4cm...

Finally around 1-2am I was dying... I was exhausted cause I had only slept 3 hours the night before. Everything seemed to feel worse cause I was so tired.

I tried to get some dilaudid at 3am and it didn’t help. I was at my wits end I wanted to ask for a c section cause I was in that much pain. I couldn’t breathe, felt like throwing up each contraction.

Finally at 4am and 12 hrs of labor, I said I need the epidural. Immediately. They came in, and all the pain went away. I was just scared I’d have 30 hours of labor and I knew I couldn’t physically handle much more.

I knocked out for an hour and a half and got woken up by a contraction. I’m like wait I just got my epidural why can I feel this? Then a huge sensation like I had to poop!

Then I felt her sliding! I’m like oh no! Omg! This is it! I woke dad up, called the nurse and said she’s coming!

Started pushing around 5:56am and she was delivered at 6:08 am!

It was so amazing. I watched in the mirror!! I couldn’t breathe, I was hyperventilating and balling my eyes out cause I thought I needed ice gym 😂. All was fine!!

She’s such a little nugget but completely healthy!
