Stupid question I know but will they check ?

My best friend is due in two weeks and wants me there with her but I know they only allow family . We are like family and She doesn’t want to be alone and wants me there so if we say we’re sisters will they check and make sure some how or ?  She’s also a first time mom and I know how hard it was when I first had my baby so having someone there with you does help .

Most hospitals are only allowing one support person at all due to Covid-19 - it does not have to be family. They just have to add you as their “designated support person.” 
Once you are in you are not allowed to leave and come back, or trade with someone else though, so if you aren’t planning on staying with her for the 24-48 hrs postpartum maybe consider someone else going (if they would be willing to stay). Otherwise she will be managing a newborn by herself with only the busy nurses to help. 
Potentially the hospital you are in isn’t issuing these restrictions right now, in which case none of this will matter!

Just tell her to let the nurses know that she wants you in the room. They aren’t gonna pull up birth records or shit to confirm you’re related or anything so you’re fine

If you are her one support person you should be let in just fine. However most hospitals are only letting in 1 person so if that’s you, then great, if there’s someone else in line you won’t be able to go.
My husband is my support person and so he is the only person who will be allowed with me the entire stay. Even our parents are not allowed. Many ppl with children at home cannot bring their kids to see the baby, so unless you are the one person you probably won’t be allowed in, unless the hospital changes it’s policy.

They never check. I went to the hospital a couple times when my husband and I were only dating and I told them he was my husband so he stay with me. They have more important things to do than search for a marriage license or run DNA tests.

You can say different dads so different last names. I don’t think they have a way to check unless they’re gonna actually do a dna test which I highly doubt .

You’re not allowed to have more than one person, period, right now. Additionally, you’re not family so I doubt they’d let you in.
