Would you be upset if your partner didnt tell you how much you get from their life insurance policy?

A couple months ago when I was visiting my parents, my dad was upset with my mom because she wouldnt tell him what percentage of money he would get if she died. He felt like she didn't trust him.

After arguing the whole day, she finally told him that he got less money than what we, as children, would get. Her reasoning is that if she gave him all the money and he remarried a terrible stepmother after her death, the step mom could use the money for herself.

Now I just found out that she stopped paying for life insurance and has decided no one needs the money if she dies because it's just going to cause problems since we dont get equal shares.
