Do women actually purposely trap men with child support?

I hear guys everywhere talking about theses dangerous women who puposely get pregnant with a mans baby just so she can get a monthly child support payment. This sounds far fetched to me because the cost of raising a child (assuming you actually take care of the child) is very expensive. I had a friend in high school whos mom got a child support from her dad. The child support payment was only about $150 per month. This is not a lot of money. It is not enough to feed and clothe a child. Getting pregnant for child support payments does not seem woth it to me. The medical bills for giving birth are in the thousands. Children cost thousands of dollars to take care of. Do women actually do this or do men just like to complain about child support because they dont want to take responsibility?

But a lot of women do “trap” men .

I personally think some women do it so that they can collect government aid too. It's sad.

My neighbor has 9 kids (I believe 7 or 8 different dads?). She doesn’t work. All 9 kids spend all day at the pool on the summer from open til close. We live by the pool so I see them walk across the street every day. They even take the baby. The mom stays home and tans. She once told me- and I quote “my job is making babies”. Not raising babies, MAKING babies.

Seriously? A girl would have to be stupid to set that trap. Child support doesn’t even come close to the financial requirements of raising a child. Nor is it guaranteed that the man will even pay it. Not to mention the physical and emotional labour and sacrifice of personal freedoms and goals FOR THE REST OF HER LIFE!!! Babies are not a money making scam

I think there’s probably more people “trapping” partners to try to keep them in relationships than to get child support, but I’m sure there are still some who do.  In my experience, if there’s a dumb thing that can be done, there will be people doing it.

No one said it was smart but yeah people do it. Even more do it because they just want the man but if they can’t manage to keep him in the relationship, child support is their next thing. So many women on here be like “my boyfriend broke up with me and left me and our child, I’m putting him on child support”.

There are absolutely women out there who trap men for child support, and also use these babies as a free ride from the government. It’s so sad. Child support is also largely based on his income so it could very well be above $150 a month. My husbands coworker pays over $1500/month (2 kids) in child support. It’s crazy. I think the women who aren’t doing it for the money oftentimes do it for hopes the men would stay with them, which we all know a baby will not make a man stay.
