Proposal

So my bf and I have been talking about getting married since before I got pregnant. I want to propose to him because he is nervous about my mom and what she will say. She was a young mom and married my dad because of me, they ended up getting divorced not long after. They always fought up until I turned 18. She is worried I am going to get married because of the baby and that’s not it at all but she won’t see it that way. Would it be horrible of me to propose to him and just wait a while to tell our parents and have a long engagement. I feel like it’s silly because he’s 29 and I’m 22.
