Why are so many of you saying line progression doesn’t matter????

Question

I swear when I had a chemical, my line darkened very slowly then faded out until nothing was there. 
Now that I’m pregnant again, line progression is much more noticeable and now it’s as dark as the control line if not darker.
Now my question is, why are so many of you so sure that line progression means nothing????? Cuz it actually really means something to me. I’ve experienced it.

Because it doesnt mean anything. A darker line doesnt indicate more hcg, and it doesnt indicate the pregnancy is normal or healthy

Because unfortunately in the case of missed miscarriages it really doesn't matter. I had a chemical in 2015 and my lines progressively got darker. That was a sign something wasn't right. With our rainbow in 2017 I tested every week leading up to our appointment to keep my mind at ease and obviously everything was fine. With my missed miscarriage just a few months ago I was testing weekly until our first appointment. They couldn't get me in at 8 wks so they saw me at 9 weeks. That's a total of 5 tests. All blazing positive. Come to find out 3 of those positives were after our baby had already stopped growing. My body still thought I was pregnant and was acting accordingly. Morning sickness, positive tests, the whole 9. For an extra 3 weeks after the baby stopped growing. That's why they say it doesnt matter. 
This isn't meant to scare anyone. Just an explanation. Positives and dark positives dont indicate HCG levels or that a pregnancy is healthy/viable.

Bc pregnancy tests test for presence of hcg, not how much.  And the amount of hcg in your urine varies throughout the day.  Lines getting darker doesn’t indicate a viable pregnancy.  I’m saying this as someone who had a miscarriage at 5 weeks.

Personally I find it a waste of money but if people want to keep spending money on tests and stress themselves out over line progression.. you do you and I'll do me. It requires one test to tell me that I'm pregnant. I'll leave everything else up to the doctor.

I think because it doesn’t matter wherher it gets darker each and every time you test. It will matter if it consistently gets lighter then disappears.

Because too many people use it for a false sense of hope when darker lines don’t mean a viable pregnancy, or get wayyy upset if their lines don’t get darker. It’s a terrible representation of HCG levels because of so many different factors, time of day, how diluted your urine is, etc. I never got a super dark line because I pee often and drink a ton of water—here I am 24 weeks pregnant. But many people on this app would have looked at my tests and determined that my pregnancy wasn’t progressing correctly because my lines weren’t really getting darker. Obviously though yes if a test goes from a positive to then eventually no line and negative that means something is probably wrong. I don’t think anyone is saying that’s not true.

First pregnancy-lines got darker. I have a happy, healthy 2 year old. 
Second pregnancy- lines never got darker. Miscarriage around 7 weeks.  
Because of what I personally experienced, no one can convince me otherwise.  Sorry.

Line progression matters to a degree. I’ve had a chemical as well so I understand the need for reassurance. Ideally, once you get your positive, if you’re going to continue to test, only test at the same time of day every 3 days. Testing every day will make you crazy and honestly waste money. Once you reach about 6 weeks though, you can end up with the “hook effect” so it’s best to not continue testing with at home pregnancy tests. Call and ask for beta hcg bloodwork if you’re still concerned with viability at that point.
