My best friend lost her mucus plug and didn’t go into labour for almost two more weeks (gave birth at ~41 weeks) so I don’t think it means much.

Lost mine August 2nd at about 10pm and immediately started having consistent contractions. Had my son at 4:13pm the next day!

It can regenerate. I don't remember ever seeing mine either time. I delivered during my 39th week each time
