I think it's fine for either, I tend to think of it as a boy name just because it's a male friend's middle name.

Girl! I also think it’s super feminine, but can see why unisex.  🤷🏼‍♀️ My 6 year old is named Finley, and when I first heard the name almost 8 years ago, I had no idea it was originally a boys’ name until I researched it. Even after researching it, I still felt liken the meaning was unisex and worked perfectly for girls, too. In the US it is far more popular for girls than boys, but we have popular girl names that are very similar to Finley here like Ashley, Bailey, Presley, Kinley, and Brinley, and that’s probably why so many people prefer it for girls than boys.
