Dinner for one

My boyfriend never lets me know where he is after work (if he’s coming home for dinner with me etc). It does upset me that he doesn’t contact me. The other night I cooked us both dinner and just ate by myself. He got home when I finished and didn’t even seem to care that I was wanting to eat with him.

Is it to controlling of me to ask him to text me where he is if he’s not coming home?
