Have you ever forgiven someone who cheated on you?

Have you ever been cheated on? If so did you just find out and break up with them, or did you give the other person a chance to prove themselves?

I’m just trying to figure out, if it’s wrong to stay with someone Who cheated on you, if you chose to forgive them and go back to them.

Obviously not so quick and easy. I just want to hear the different opinions about this.

Is it so terrible for the person that was the victim of cheating to stay and want to try to work things out if the cheater shows a lot of remorse and devotion to make up for their mistake?

Also note: I have been cheated on once, and I forgave the person (eventually) and stayed with them. They had been working to prove themselves to me since and he hasn’t done anything since. I chose to stay and I’m wondering if there are other people who have done the same?

I just hate the shame I sometimes feel for staying because I see so many things online of people just leaving the person, other I see did stay, but there’s so much stigma or judgement I see towards the people who decide to stay with the person who cheated on them.
