Divorce
Currently going through a divorce, I left and moved back to my home state and I told him to file. (Because of him, cheating and lying.) So I got served the papers and i filed my response (with the help of a lawyer in my state) to get it in on time since we’re in different states now. Then I hired a lawyer in the state it was filed, when I saved up the money. His lawyer’s assistant contacted me by phone about a week ago and asked that we choose a mediation date. And she said we’d have to do it on zoom video chat in the beginning of June. I told her that she’d need to contact my lawyer. She asked for my lawyer’s name, email and phone number and I gave it to her. She then sent me and my lawyer the email with the court mediation paper. I also forward that to MY lawyer’s assistants email just to make sure they got it. His lawyers assistant sounded shocked when I said I had a lawyer. Guess they didn’t expect me to have one. So now I’m trying to get in contact with my lawyer, it hasn’t been that long since I left him a message. But I’m the type of person that likes to have things planned out ahead of time. I’m trying to ask my lawyer how it would all go and if he’ll attend the mediation with me ( Because id like him to) I guess I just expect to at least be prepped by my lawyer before the mediation video call. Should I be nervous that my lawyer hasn’t responded to me yet or should I give him time to? I know lawyers get busy and with this whole virus going on, it’s probably makes everything more difficult. Plus the mediation was just filed at the beginning of this month, so i probably should give him time to contact me before I start freaking out. Another question, is his lawyer suppose to keep contacting me directly? I thought he’s suppose to contact my lawyer.
