Did you get a Mother's Day gift from your husband/wife or boyfriend/girlfriend? or one that they bought for your baby or small child to give you?

I'm just curious, when I was younger my Dad always got my Mom a gift from himself & then 1 from me. My husband & I have 2 children, one that just turned 2 in March & one that will be 1 next month. I was kinda hoping to get a small gift or even a flower picked from outside or even just a few minutes to myself, but nothing. Mother's day to me has always been about showing love & appreciation for your Mom or the woman who raised or the Mother of your child. Maybe I'm wrong for feeling a little hurt that I didn't get anything or a sign of appreciation. I'm grateful for what I have & don't expect anything from anyone, ever. But it would have been nice to know I was thought of on Mother's day. 
Just a side note cause I know someone will probably ask, what about his Mother? Well she passed away over 7 years ago & so did mine.

I Didn’t get anything. He slept in and when he got up, I got a verbal Happy Mother’s Day. I took care of both kids all day. He did however take my son with him to Walmart, and I was sitting there thinking that once my daughter and I got up from nap, that I’d have a Mother’s Day gift waiting for me. Well, we got up and I’m looking around on the table and see that my son got some outdoor water play toys. My husband made a comment about the store, and I said “oh I see nothing for me huh” (while chuckling) he said oh sorry honey, did you want something, then proceeded with here let me give you a hug and kiss and tell you happy Mother’s Day again. At least this year I had both my kids with me. Last year, he forgot it was Mother’s Day and never went to pick my son up from his mothers house and let him stay the night one more night. In four years of being a mother, I’ve gotten one hand made gift. Not that I think it’s about the gifts, I just want to be thought of.

My husband got me flowers and Starbucks then we did whatever I wanted to do all day. For dinner we picked up sushi to eat at home. I don’t necessarily think holidays like this should be focused on gifts and expectations, but more focusing on spending time together and embracing your family and how far you’ve come. Expectations always disappoint unfortunately and I have learned that over the years. If you’re hurt, then communicate with your husband that it’s an important day for you and you would like to feel a little special.. there’s nothing wrong in that.

So while I didn’t get a gift this year with everything going on (I was happy with him making me breakfast and letting me sleep in), he got me a necklace of my daughters footprint last year.

Mine took my baby out of the house for awhile 🙌 that’s a present to me. He also came back with food and snacks 😂
No present from baby to mom, but my husband works 12+ hour days and yesterday was his first day off in weeks.

My husband and son (almost 2) wished me happy Mother’s Day, made pancakes, and we ordered take out for dinner (that was a cluster because most restaurants closed earlier than usual). He asked me right before bed to check the amazon cart. There were 3 items and he asked if I would like those. All 3 came off my “wish list” on amazon, so I’m not sure why he asked. I assume that’s my gift but I was a little bummed he hadn’t even thought to order it before last night. But it is what it is and I’m not letting it upset me.

We don’t do gifts for each other, which is totally a person thing so I get not everyone has to be like us. But it’s just one more thing for us to spend money on and try to figure out what to get and make time to get or whatever. He takes good care of me and I take good care of him so I know he appreciates me and I believe he knows I appreciate him.

My dad sent me a "happy almost-mother's day" and when I told my husband he said something along the way of "that's right, next year's mother's day you're going to be a mommy"
We don't celebrate valentines day but he brings me flowers every once in a while and he does appreciate me every day.. Or at least most days 😊😊

My husband and I have chatted about this. On our day, the expectation is that the other and the kid(s) (when we have them) will make breakfast in bed and give a card. Nice and simple. Best to have these conversations in advance since no one is a mind reader.

Growing up, my dad always got my mom flowers.. but I told my husband since we had our first, that I’m not really a flower person.. So he gets me whatever food (take out) I want and we watch movies all day 😬 His father did the same with his mom, got her favorite food for lunch or dinner for the 6 of them (he has 3 siblings) This year we got wings (she lives with us) & we watched movies with our 2 kids now
