I think the problem is not that you are extremely fertile right after giving birth, but that you have no idea WHEN you will become fertile. A momma EBF May go a year or better before returning to fertility or like myself ovulate at 11 weeks post pregnancy. One who is not ebf or breastfeeding at all will get her cycles back sooner. Using an OPK will tell you that you have regained fertility but it will too late if you already had unprotected sex days prior to the positive
