Lol my 8 month old son is a result of one month of the pull out method. And I was also tracking my ovulation and avoiding my fertile window. Luckily, my husband and I were basically ready for a baby anyways, just trying to delay by a couple months while we moved. Long story. 
Anyways, don’t use the pull out method unless you’re ready for a baby. There will always be someone who swears by it, but you never know how it will work for you. And men have no way of knowing if there is sperm in their precum. I 100% got pregnant from precum.

4 years with 2 planned but unsuccessful pregnancies now currently pregnant planned also

Technically with tracking my ovulation and period, it worked for two years. 
Then it failed and now I'm pregnant. I wasn't necessarily trying to avoid a pregnancy though, so I wouldn't say I was using it under the assumption it was effective birth control. 
If you don't want any chance of getting pregnant don't use it lol

The age gap between our second and third kid is 3 years and the gap between our 3rd and 4th kid is 4 years and the gap between baby 5 from baby number 4 will be almost 3 years.
We only stop using it when we start talking of having a baby
