Should I give my child Tylenol before 18 month needles?

My daughter has her shots today I’m wondering if I should give her Tylenol before them? I never did before but always had someone telling me I should. Just now I had someone else tell me I should because if everything going on to help avoid her getting sick... thoughts?
I’m just a bit paranoid because of everything going on and at his 12 month shots he ended up getting the flu. Which probably was just something he picked up at the doctors office. But any other time he was fine.

Tylenol doesn’t prevent illness, it would only hide a fever if your baby has one. There’s no reason to give Tylenol until baby displays signs of being sore from the shots. My first was only bothered by 1 set of shots (he’s 3 years old), I would’ve been giving him a lot of medicine for no reason if I gave him some before all his shots.

Never give Tylenol before vaccines. It makes the vaccines less effective. You can give Tylenol a couple hours afterwards without issue, if it’s needed. I’m a pediatric nurse and a good portion of my job is vaccines. We always tell parents not to give it beforehand!

Giving her Tylenol wont avoid her from getting “sick” it helps for the pain and discomfort. 
Having a fever and some redness normal. All of these reactions mean the vaccine is working. Your child's body is making new antibodies to protect against the real disease. 
I only give Tylenol depending on how my baby is feeling after vaccines. 
Definitely ask your doctor about when to give Tylenol.

I have never given any medicine before or after a vaccine for my two kids and they've been to totally fine. Nurses who have given the vaccines have told me to just give tylenol afterward of they get a temperature.

It would only help the chance of getting a fever not getting sick.  Only use it if you see your little one developing a fever after the vaccines.

Like others have said it won't prevent illness. It only helps with relieving fever and pain. I only give my son Tylenol for shots if he's got a fever that won't go down on its own or if he's in pain
