How did you announce your pregnancy to your parents, specifically if you didnt have a holiday/birthday nearby to give them a gift to open?

I sent them a text saying I'm pregnant lol. Both my parents cry when they are happy and for some reason that makes me feel weird because I don't cry when I'm happy. So I wanted to avoid all of that

I just called and said you're going to be a grandma/pa...I was too excited to wait or plan anything exciting. I had told everyone by 3 days after finding out.

I did something like this for my announcement and they were so surprised! Bc they thought they were just grabbing a donut and they had no idea we were trying.
