Wondering when baby’s start to walk and talk?

I have a nephew who is 18 months and not walking and only saying 2 words ... he is a premie so I’m not sure if that has a lot to do with it... he also doesn’t eat a lot , he weighs 18LB & is in size 4 diapers. Not sure if we should be super concerned since he’s a premie ...

What do his doctors say? That is very small for age and a little late on the milestones, but depending how preemie the baby is it can take a while for them to catch up. Only the doctors can really assess if there's anything to be concerned about.
P.S. I wasn't a preemie and didn't walk till 16 1/2 months 🤷‍♀️

Babies walk at different times and being premature can make a difference. My daughter is 21 months old and 21 pounds, but is perfectly healthy. So if his doctor isn't worried about his walking or weight, then it's probably fine. Is he late with any other milestones?

My daughter didn’t walk until 19 months and she wasn’t a premie. And my son didn’t start saying proper words until then either. If his parents are concerned, they should talk to his paediatrician

Every child is different. My son crawled at 6months walked by 9 running before 12 months jumping off the ground both feet at 18 months. I’ve done a lot of physical therapy work with him tho since he was an infant. He’s been using multiple words together like “look at that” and others since before is first birthday but his dr almost didn’t believe that and said it’s very impressive. So it’s literally different for all and my son wasn’t premature and that definitely affects development. You said he’s your nephew have you talked to his mom what does she have to say about it?
