When do doctors start checking if you’re dilated ?

I’ve started getting checked a little earlier in sense I had covid and the cough was causing me to have contractions but normally my ob office start around 36 weeks if you want it’s elective

I’m 33 weeks and 2 days and my doctor will probably check me next week at my appointment. Last week at the appointment he said the next appointment or the one after but I think I’m going to ask for it at this one just to know. I’ve been in a lot of pain. With my son my water ruptured at 38w 4days. I just sat down and it felt like I sat in a water balloon. I’ve been in so much pain that every time I sit down I’m afraid that’s going to happen again. My appointments on Monday. So we will see where I am.
