How can someone get pregnant on the pill when they say they took it perfectly?

Easy - no birth control is 100% effective. Things happen, mistakes happen, it easily can fail. Birth control does not make a woman immune to pregnancy or infertile, which is why I personally believe in doubling up with condoms if you truly don’t want a baby, but that’s just me 🤷🏼‍♀️.

Because it’s not 100% effective. Medication can interact with the pill making it less effective. Sometimes it just happens. No birth control is 100% effective. Only abstinence. Even tubal ligations and vasectomies are not 100% effective 🤷🏻‍♀️ people can still get pregnant. As long as you have sex it’s a possibility.

The pill is 99.9% when used perfectly but most dont use it perfectly so it drops to 91%. Take it on time, if you vomit or have diarrhea within 3 hours of taking it its a missed pill use condoms for 7 days, make sure you don't have other meds that interact with it- hiv meds, high blood pressure meds, antibiotics, antiseizure meds- also used for migraines and bipolar disorder, and st John's wort. So not just about taking it on time. Thats why iuds and implants are 20X more effective even tho they are also 99.9% effective because they have little to no room for user error. User error accounts for 95% of pregnancies on birth control. 
I used mini pills for 2 years without condoms or pull out and never got pregnant perfect use is 99.5% effective as good as female sterilization typical use is 91%. 
I used just condoms for 3 years without pull out. Perfect use is 97% effective typical is 88%. 
I'm on the second year of mirena no condoms or pull out and havent gotten pregnant.

Because nothing is perfect. The human body is unpredictable and hard to modify with just pulls. It’s 2020 so scientists are pretty good, but not perfect.
