Am I pregnant??

Hi everyone! I'm wondering if anyone has had a similar experience - my husband and I are ttc and I should have gotten my period yesterday, it's rarely late, usually early if anything. I've been feeling random bouts of nausea since Saturday and last night I woke up in the middle of the night with what felt like cramps. When I woke up, I was surprised bc I hadnt gotten my period so I took a test. It came back negative so I've been assuming I'd get it sometime today. I've been feeling cramps on and off all day but they're a little different than period cramps. Could I be pregnant despite a negative test this am?
