Did you give birth without complications

Question

I dont know if im just hearing horror stories but i havent heard one story recently when things went "normal".
Im starting to think that being at home, having your waters brake around your due date, go to hospital start having  contractions, give birth and its all done is more of a myth!

Ina May Gaskin’s Guide to Childbirth is a great book about normal childbirth. The first half of the book is nothing but women telling positive birth stories. The second half is good information about natural childbirth. Highly recommend! 
Personally I don’t know anyone who had birth complications. I didn’t have any either.

I was induced because he refused to move out 😆 
But everything went perfect. 
Went in around 9am. My water broke all on its own at 7pm. Contraction picked up about 10pm, and little man was out by 8am the next morning. 
Tv makes it look so magical that people have babies right after their water breaks and baby comes out in minutes. Its true that can happen but it can also take up to 24 hours!

Both of my labors have been perfect. 
First- had cramping and was basically in early labor from midnight until about 4-5 pm. It was all manageable at home. We went to the hospital around 5:30pm, and I was already 6cm. Has an unmedicated birth and baby was born at 10pm on her due date 
2nd- waters broken around 3 am the day after my due date. Contractions started thirsty minutes later. Left for hospital around 5:30am, and baby was born at 6:31 am in four pushes. No meds, no tearing, and I felt great physically. 
I’m sure some of this is luck and genetics. But I also prepared (hypnobirthing), worked out during pregnancy, went to the chiropractor, had amazing midwives, and ate seven dates daily during the last trimester.

People love to share horror stories...many of which start with unnecessary interventions. Listen to positive birth stories on The Birth Hour podcast, Birthful podcast, or watch videos on YouTube. While things can happen, pregnancy and birth are a normal part of life...not a horror story waiting to happen

I guess it depends on what counts as complications....I almost went to emergency c section because her head was turned to the side in a way that she was stuck in my pelvis, which made my contractions super painful and labor take longer than it would have. The doctor had to assist with a vacuum. But baby and I were both in okay shape after with only mild things to deal with like jaundice and tearing, lol.

Some people absolutely have traumatic experiences and it’s not for me to say if they play it up or not lol. As for the rest of people I think everyone embellishes a little, it’s human nature to want some hella credit. 😂 Just remember that. Contractions for me were very painful but I had a wonderful birth experience over all. Best day of my life. ❤️❤️❤️

My first I had zero complications.  I was sent to l&d because I was in active labor but I have a high pain tolerance and had been uncomfortable for weeks lol. I did labor for 70+ hours but had a completely picture perfect natural delivery. I felt awesome after and was up and moving around within 30min. My water broke at 8cm. 
My second was completely stuck and I was sick and ended with an emergency csection.

My water broke but labor didn’t progress and we waited like 12 hrs then I finally agreed to be induced with pitocin and almost 8 hours later I had my son. I pushed for 2.5hrs and he had to be “vacuumed” out lol because I was exhausted. He came out on 2nd push with vacuum.
