When will you start buying off your registry?

Hi friends,

My mom has set up a virtual shower for my husband and I in a couple of weeks. We had linked the registry to our invite, so people could purchase items straight off of the registry. Since sending out our registry link, only 2 gifts have been bought off of the registry; I know because I can see who has purchased what. We had explicitly told our guests that we do not expect them to buy anything for baby, given a lot of people’s crazy financial situation with the whole pandemic thing, and that hasn’t changed. But I’m starting to get a little antsy about not having things ready for baby ahead of time; a lot of the items we marked as “high priority” now have shipping times into early July (this kiddo is due August 14th but is measuring almost 2 weeks ahead, so we very well could have a July baby). I guess I’m just curious as to what you ladies are doing. Do we start slowly buying our high priority items ourselves? I would much rather space out purchases as I find good deals on things than drop $300 on everything we need last minute. I’m probably being stressy and anxious for nothing, I know.
