Anatomy scan at 18.5-19 weeks?

From your experience, can they tell the gender at 18.5-19 weeks and will most places do that instead of at 20 weeks? We'll be out of town when we are 20 weeks, so I'm hoping to find out before we leave. Thanks!

I scheduled a private scan for 16 weeks, so I can find out bc my reg doctors office isn’t allowing me to go back until 21 weeks due to covid 😭 so I’m paying $89 out of pocket to find out sooner! Lol

Yes definitely by then! With newer ultrasound technology, you can sometime find out as early as 12 weeks! Someone out in town should def be able to hook you up ;)

We did it at 19.5 weeks and it was super obvious that our daughter didn’t have a penis. That being said, don’t get your hopes up too much that the office will see you early. Ask, for certain. But they may say to schedule for when you come back home. Definitely ask the doctor first. We schedule via office staff, and their hands are tied to doctor requests.

Anatomy scans are usually 18-22 weeks. I’m having mine done at 19 weeks.

Typically they can tell when they do the anatomy scan around 20w. But it also depends on your baby!
With my first, she wouldn't uncross her legs. At all. They even had me get up and move around a little to no avail. The tech was leaning towards girl since she couldn't see any boy parts but she warned us it was mostly a guess. 
I didn't find out the gender until my next reg appt! And it was a girl lol.
